South Africa-based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan found herself in the midst of unexpected drama when her ex, Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz, made an unannounced appearance at their daughter Tiffah's birthday party. The surprise visit left Zari’s husband, Shakib, fuming, as he felt blindsided by the situation.
Zari, a mother of five, took to social media to set the record straight. She explained that she had contacted Diamond to request financial support for their daughter's celebration, and he obliged by sending money. "Anything that involves his kids, when I want money, he sends it," Zari shared. She continued, "Lutaaya was like, 'You and your baby daddy.' Me and my baby daddy, what? It was a birthday, and that's his kid, and I am their mother. It became like a whole big story."
The situation escalated when Shakib discovered that Diamond had been granted access to their home. According to Zari, their house can only be accessed through password codes or biometrics, and it appeared that one of her children or house helps had let Diamond in. She firmly defended herself, stating, "He didn’t tell me he was coming to South Africa. I didn’t even know he was coming."
Zari also made it clear that there is no lingering connection between her and Diamond, stressing that the singer remains only her children's father. "Shakib was upset, but I had no control over the situation," she said. "He will forever be his children's dad, and that can't be changed."
Despite the tension, Tiffah’s birthday was a lavish affair, with Diamond present to celebrate his daughter. However, Shakib's anger over the surprise visit prompted Zari to address the issue publicly, emphasizing her innocence in the matter.
